Book Reading at Cooroy Library

Cooroy has a new Library, and 'Mrs Echidna' was there during the winter school holidays!

Betty visited the new library at Cooroy, on the Sunshine Coast, during the winter school holidays. Children heard the story, interacted with the puppets, participated in some songs / rhymes relating to the theme, and made a hand puppet of Mrs Echidna to take home.

What a great morning it was! Forty children had booked in for the event, but many more arrived! These children live in an area of incredible natural beauty - Noosa is the nearest beach; all the well-known Sunshine Coast National Parks surround them. All the animals Mrs Echidna encounters in the story live in the bush around this area ... and many others as well.

I love this little town - everyone is so friendly and helpful. Margaret at the patchwork and quilting store 'Cooroy Drapery' has such an incredible array of textiles to tempt anyone! Diane's 'Possums Books and Coffee' is a 'must visit' .... a great place for a browse through the books.. and I'll bet that like me, you can't resist the titles she has offering! AND the eateries have real quality offerings.... yum yum!
