Turn to pages 52-58 of the January 2011 issue of Australian 'Homespun' Magazine and you will find all the instructions to make an embroidery of the echidna.  The magazine commissioned me to create an embroidery along the lines of the ones in the book, but different.

This one has the bullions, beading and ribbonwork of the others, but just for fun, I added some needle felting to create the tree trunk.  The background fabric is a batik I found - I just love the variations of light and shade in the piece.

In October 2010, Australian Homespun Magazine also ran a full page article about the book.  Here it is for you to peruse....
