Title: Mrs Echidna at ECTA Conference
The response to 'Mrs Echidna's Dilemma' at the ECTA (Early Childhood Teachers' Association) was overwhelming!  Professional early childhood educators really appreciated the various ways the story could be intergrated into the curriculum, whether it was literacy, science, or environmental studies.

The patterns for making their own puppet resources were also popular.  One delegate wrote  after the event: "Thank you for some great resource patterns. I teach Kindergarten and I'm sure my classes will enjoy both the beautiful story and the puppets."

Any teacher who purchased a book was given their choice of 'Activity Sheets' relating to the book for use in the classroom. These activity sheets are age appropriate, and cover a range of topics including craft, literacy, science, research activities, and exploring 'a safe place' in their own environment.

Also very valuable to educators was the handout showing the myriad ways 'Mrs Echidna's Dilemma' fulfills the requirements of the Australian National Curriculum - this can be emailed free of charge to any teacher who requests it.
