     Title: Student workshop at USC
Betty Johnston visited the University of the Sunshine Coast (Qld) on 3rd April to speak to students about her book 'Mrs Echidna's Dilemma'. Students from different subjects attended - those studying 'teaching literacy' and also 'early childhood studies'.

The students' response was amazing. They were fascinated by the array of resources for teaching literacy and numeracy using puppets [available from the shop].

Students appreciated hearing how the story was created as an educational resource, and how it has evolved into a multi-modal approach to teaching literacy, intergrating literacy into a variety of subject areas.

Students were able to obtain signed copies of the book, and also have a close inspection of the other resources for teaching literacy and numeracy available... particulary the puppets!
